I was actually almost sure, that you were a ‘she’, mainly because of your login name :-)))!! Good, that you clarified.
BTW, in the spiritof disclosure (it is the holidays season, after all), I took the moniker Christie Rules, in honor of the governer of my home state New Jersey, but as Kalaa said, the latter part was chpped off :0(
BTW, to all the Abhilasha fans, do you think she was as good as the CHote Ustad girls Anwesha and Aishwarya? While I have been a Abhilasha fan since I saw her on SVoI1 4 years ago, I have to say those 2 little champs were special, and clearly ahead of Abhilasha. I can see them reach the leagues of Shreya Ghoshal; Abhilasha? No way, although she is very good in her own right.
Have to say, aother Bengali, Debojit (think he won on some earlier Saregama? he was on Jo Jeeta and later on Music Ka Maha) was a much better singer of Kishoreda songs, as was Harshit from SVOI who was also on Jo Jeeta and Music Ka…Both of them could have sung (and did sing the EK Hasina Thi) the 1st and 3rd songs of Bisakh better.
I am hooked to Abhilasha’s version of Yeh dil tum bin. It is so soothing, much more so than the original.
Actually Alka Yagnik’s observation makes sense in light of the fact that Abhilasha looked trim and quite pretty in SVOI where Alka was a judge (and Abhijit was too).
Anwesha and Aiswarya are so young and yet phenomenal singers. If Abhilasha works hard, she will definitely be in the league of Shreya and Sunidhi as she has a very clear and beautiful voice.
I really feel sorry for Sugandha. She was really great.
Wish all the best to remaining contestants as the are all excellent singers.
ok, couldn’t read through all 84 comments above due to time constraints but I partly agree with many of you. For me Kamal was favourite but the way Abhilasha has improved (not saying she was bad before) over the past 4 weeks, she could easily win. Very sorry to see Sugandha go but again as I mentioned 2-3 weeks back, Bishakh has lifted his game quite well.
At the end of the day ONLY one will win this comp so, let’s wish all the very best for last 5 contestants for their future in Bollywood.
I saw/heard one song of Anwesha, and was frankly astounded. While I think Abhilasha is better simply because of more training, there’s no doubt that Anwesha has a great future if she keeps at it. How many of these numerous talented folks have a lucrative future in such a crowded field in India? Dunno, given the population, maybe many, although I admit of tiring of listening to new voices in every other album.
priyam’s words resonated with me, especially when he talks about “very clear and beautiful voice”. Abhilasha’s voice is clear as a bell, that is one other very important aspect of singing.
With all the confusion caused by chopping off of names, I’m betting “neetu” is a guy too :) Certainly sounds like it.
Hahahaha Kalaakar i’m certainly not…very much a girl..wonder why u thought i a guy though??
WOW, I didn’t notice the poll on this site so far.
It’s overwhelmingly in favor of Kamal (including mine and Neetu’s votes)!!
Exactly my point….funny but “K” could only count a handful of people on the forum supporting Abhilasha where as all the polls, tweets are contrary to his opinion…infact check youtube too and compare how many ppl watch abhilasha’s performance per say Kamal’s…
neetu, perhaps because you are such a persistent foe? Your faith refuses to be shaken, regardless of facts presented.
With srgmp, I am seeing an accurate reflection of the 5 stages of grief, as he comes to grips with the facts, those being denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
If I am not mistaken, srgmp is currently in the “depression” stage, and in a few short days from now will be in the acceptance stage. He is already subtly caving in to the Abhilasha camp, whereas you are proving to be a doughty fighter in the small but vocal Kamal camp.
Awwwww “K” u do have a grt sense of humor…hafta give that to u……..
Facts??? Dunno but urs are more of a fiction than facts , the high point being in the know of the eviction of Kamal and the selction of the 2 finalist!! As for faith, mine is strong as a rock…..
Funny talking about facts u seem to be totally ignorant of the polls being heavily in favor of Kamal…..u are a pretty persistent fighter urself…, hafta give that u though little misread and ignorant but love the bantering back n forth…wondering what ur final verdict would be when they annouce KAMAL as the winner….acceptance or denial, or may be the apt repeated phrase…”.Abhilasha for me u are the tru winner” “this janta does not know the best”….blah blah blah!!!
Kamal Khan is indeed Kamaal ka singer…nobody can beat him
awesome voice. bishak sounds like everyday voice but kamal stands out in the crowd among all.
Abilasha is soo trying to become the next Lata je…but sorry to say girl by singing lata’s song you don’t even come close to her. So don’t even try to replace her in anyway.
Kamal should be rewarded
Then Abilasha
then Bishak
Kalaakaar, you really are a “Kalaakaar”!! And a very entertaining one!!
I will just reiterate my stand for you, which has been very consistent:
1) I like Kamal most (and I believe, that’s the case with most of the people visiting this site, looking at the poll here)
2) Kamal should win looking at all the performances so far (and I still strongly believe, he will).
3) I gave 35/35/30 to A/B/K, just taking into consideration the last two episodes’ performances where Abhilasha and Bishakh scored higher than what was expected from them, and Kamal probably little lower than what was expected from him (but looking at the polls here, I think, people are considering all performances, not the last few ones!!).
4) I will be equally happy if Abhilasha or even Bishakh wins, as I like both of them, just not as much as Kamal.
On the contrary, please re-read all your posts, and then analyze your mood-swings (I would use the term mood-swings, as I can’t find any consistent pattern). Actually, apart from your name on this forum, that was another reason, why I thought you were a gal (which I wish you were).
Kalaakaar, when you wanted to make a ‘deal’ with Neetu, I hope, it was just a mood-swing, not ‘bargaining’ stage!!
Also, you came very late on this forum, and you started watching the earlier episodes off late. More, you didn’t know the actual format of the contest, so I guess, ‘facts finding/coming to grips with the facts’ stage came out of sequence for you.
I think, the stages don’t apply to you, mood-swings is the right term.
Hmmmm srgmp may be “K” has been having some hormonal changes too….like the male equivalent of pms’ing !!
Thanks, dear. I am really confused though (I don’t know what that stage is)!! I think, Kalakaar needs to come out of closet, may be!!
Now, I am so depressed (can’t come to grips with the fact that “K” is not a gal). I still wish, he were a she (is that denial or anger or still depression?).
Let’s make a deal. Just say you’re (a she) and I am ready to accept Abhilasha as the TRUE winner!!
Where the hell did you get this ’5 stages’ stuff, dude (!?!)? Please focus on the SAREGAMAPA contestants’ performance analysis!!
I just can’t stop laughing. I have been trying hard, but just can’t!!
You seriously need some help, dude(!??!!)!!.
Wow, finale in a few days and passions seem to be coming to a boil.
Let’ s handicap the race. My bet right now is 50/40/10 for Abhilasha/Kamal/Bisakh.
Pros and cons for Abhilasha:
1. top of the list the last 2 weeks, suggesting that may be her support is solidifying. 2. May have some sympathy factor, as she participated in multiple other shows, and viewers may feel she is finally due. 3. Lone female left 4. Has generally received solid remarks from judges, although they never went gaga
cons: with one or two exceptions, women dont win these kinds shows in India, for whatever reasons (unless your last name is Gandhi, I guess). 2. Lack of support from judges – for example, of the top 3, she won the least PoD awards, by far
Kamal, pros: Clear favorite of the judges who always gave him rave reviews 2. Pretty solid technically, especially in his genre. 3. Likeable, and seems humble 4. Has never scored below Bisakh, as far as I remember on the voting and never came in the danger zone, while Abhilasha and Bisakh have, as far as I remember
Cons: slipped in the voting behind Abhilasha recently. 2. Lack of versatility may be starting to limit his appeal
Bisakh, pros: 1. Bubbly guy, cheerful. 2. Pretty versatile. 3. Always sings songs that most people know while Kamal and Abhilasha have a tendency to pick tough and obscure (for me) songs to show off their talents
COns: 1. Has generally trailed in voting behind the other 2 consistently in the last few weeks, which to me seems his chances are minimal 2. Technically, not as solid as the other 2.
I think the big wild card is what happens to the fan base of Sugandha (and to less extent) Razvada. If the Sugandha voters split to the other female, Abhilasha’s chances are huge. I am convinced however, so my 50/40/10 bet.
I would like to agree with you, Christie, but please remember, last year’s winner was a girl from Maharashtra. That’s a big indicator!!
Regional voting has biggest influence in these type of shows where people just want the contestant from their own region to win. Not saying Abhilasha is a bad singer but I hope people vote for the real talent. May be Abhilasha sang ‘Lavni’ in her audition and also more than once during the competition to grab max votes from Maharastra
Himani Kapoor is an example of a really wonderful female contestant not making it. She experimented all the time and put her stamp on every song she performed.
