MUMBAI: Musical duo Vishal-Shekhar have come on board to judge one of the oldest reality show on Zee TV Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
“This is a new, younger cooler version, but as always, we’ll try to maintain the soul, the vibe of the original Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Talent above all!,” writes the singer composer on his Twitter account.
Primary auditions for the east zone of the country will commence from 11 May in Bhubaneswar followed by Guwahati on 13 May, 15-16 May in Kolkata, as revealed by Vishal on social networking site. Bangalore auditions will begin on 20 May, Indore on 22 May, Baroda on 24 May followed by Nagpur on 26 May. Mumbai will host the auditions on 29 -30 May. Auditions in north zone will start from Jalandhar on 3 June, Lucknow on 6 June and Jaipur on 9 June. Capital Delhi will host the auditions on 12th-13th June.
The show which first premeired on Zee TV in 1995 has come long way and produced several well known singers including Shreya Ghoshal. Last season of the show saw musicians like Aadesh Shrivastava, Shankar Mahadevan, Pritam and Himesh Reshammiya judging the contestants. Maharashtra based Vaishali Mhade, (part of Himesh Reshamiya’s ‘Rock Gharana’) was the winner of the last season in 2009.
