Congratulation !!!! Kamal Khan is the Saregamapa 2010 Winner. A very well deserved Victory and many many congratulation to Abhilasha Chellum 1st Runner Up and Bishakh Jyoti 2nd Runner Up for making it so far. They are definitely amongst the best singers in this season.

i am happy for him but he is not better than the other two contestants.
I personally think Kamal was way better than them and that what a majority of ppl felt too…hence he won handsdown!!
keep on keeping on.you will see in the future that he will be less successful than the other 2.
Wow, Kavita!! Where were you before? Why couldn’t you just predict winner correctly, if you could look into their future so precisely?
b.j. won p.o.t.d for 7 times.it’s like s.t. wining man of the match for every game and yet giving m.s. dhoni man of the series.
wow! sounds like you have crystal ball Kavita. I would wish and expect that all top 3 will do their best. Bollywood is too BIG to have enough work for all of these talented individuals.
I hope this does not mean Abhilash will quit professional singing as she has mentioned somewhere (her plan B is to become a music teacher and take up music therapy). I would love to continue to hear her voice. Look at Raja Hasan – he seems to be doing better than the guy who won 2 years ago. Nobody even knows what he’s up to.
Kamal Khan has a great voice but the little vibrato he does at the end is very much a punjabi street singer trick that is quite unappealing to me. I hope he learns to refine his technique.
I don’t know if it’s true or just for TV, but I just saw a repeat of their “Road to Final” vid, and in one episode Bappi Lahiri-ji [:respects:] told Abhilasha that he would be honored if she came to his next recording session. (!)
I’m sure Abhilasha has a bright future waiting – be it as a music composer, director or playback artist. :)
She moves the hearts of millions with her angelic voice.
@V – This is just the beginning for them as the judges said. All three are equals in their singing skills. It was just the ‘janata ki polls’ that set their standings – their judges know best I’m sure. :)
Cheers to all – Kamal, Bishakh and of course
I LOVE YOU ABHILASHA! ♥ ♥ ♥
Abhilasha will be one of the leading female singer as she got an amazing voice quality. Just being a Music teacher is too small for he abilities.
A-MEN!!
KAMAL KHAN U ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations, Kamal!! Yes, you are truly a winner (for all)!!
I don’t think, Abhilasha or Bishakh will leave professional singing. I hope, they don’t. All 3 of these should take that scholarship they earned, and go to school. I have been watching SAREGAMAPA for years. This was really a very impressive lot in years. I hope these guys don’t leave it to this. I am almost sure, Kamal won’t. That look on his face has been always telling, that he’s here to stay!!
agree. I hope and wish that all top 3 (and other like Mampee, Shreyasi, Ranjeet) will continue their journey from here onwards. Honestly I enjoyed all top three’s singing. Good luck to all with their career in professional singing.
Kamal is truly amazing! God has given him so much talent and he has definitely worked hard to shine it and so have others. Never any doubt in my mind about him being way above others…God bless him and give him success. Congratulations to Abilasha too-another amazing voice and Bishakh, who probably worked the hardest! His notes were alway bang on…great job! Very happy with the final outcome! Congratulations once again to all three..may you all go a long way in the field of Indian music-looking forward to listening to some great music from you all.
“Abhilasha Venkatachellum, the 21 year old girl from Pune will compete with two other male finalists on the live episode. The 23 year old guy Bishakh Jyoti from Kolkata and 21 year old Kamal Khan from Patiyala will face each other on the stage for the last time. The fate of three aspiring Singing Superstars now depends on the audience votes.
However, the youngsters do not seem to be very worried about losing the title. All of them have their plan B and will pursue that if they fail to win the title tomorrow. Abhilasha, who was one of the finalists of the Marathi Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, says that she wants to educate herself in music and will teach music to the kids. She also wants to invent a plan to treat illness with the help of music
.
On the other hand, both the boys plan to have their own albums and turn composer. They also plan to shift their base to Mumbai as both of them are from other parts of the country.
One of them will not have to think for plan B because he or she won’t get the time to think of it as the channel offers a contract and the winner will remain busy throughout the year.”
Hindustan Times kept refering to Kamal Khan as Khurram!
Thanks, V, for the excerpt.
I really hope, Abhilasha continues to pursue a career in Bollywood as a playback singer. She does have quite good chances to be a success.
Why do they have to think of Plan “B”, if they don’t win? That’s just plain bull!! What’s wrong in being number 2 or number 3? They have enough spots in Bollywood to appreciate even number 10!!
COngrats to Kamal. SO much for my prediction that it is 50/40/10 for Abhilasha/Kamal/Bisakh. I am actually surprised that the voting is so close (19 laks for the winner, 17 laks for the 3rd place), and also that the overall votes are so weak (considering that the people who actually vote usually cast multiple votes, it appears that less than a couple of million people bothered to vote at all, in a country of 1100 million).
Other thoughts:
I think the show was just way too long. At the same time, it was boring for the most part.
It is just disgraceful that the actual contestants received just a fraction of the airtime. The so called judges and mentors spent more time on the stage, yapping or strutting and promoting their songs. At least I can speak for myself, and I tuned in to watch the contestants and not the judges. If I want to watch the judges, I will attend their concerts or some thing else they are on. No wonder the voting is so paltry.
I was not a big fan of Sugandha, but I think she got robbed, getting to share a song with Sniti and a few bits and pieces with VS. She was #4 in the voting, for crying out loud. On the other hand, that opera singer Mughda got 3 or 4 full songs on her own and she was eliminated eons ago. Even cutting some slack for the timing and Christmas carols, this was ridiculous.
As usual, the judges were loud, pompous and running onto the stageat the drop of a hat.
The promotion of that dance show was in totally bad taste. That shirtless idiot and his crotch grabbing belonged in the gutter. I did n’t know that India became liberal enough that crotch grabbing is primetime TV material and PG enough for small kids tuning into watch Saregamapa winners.
Overall, good series, but I enjoyed The Idol better this year. Good luck to all the contestants as they try to making a living singing Bollywood songs.
The main forces driving the show and the staging of the finale is the fact that the youngsters are tuning out and there are other competing reality shows – dancing, cooking, etc. Hell, even amongst reality music shows there are so many by different channels and involving various age groups. These shows saturate the ariwaves while there is declining viewer interest. Add to all this the general perception that Northeastern states and Punjab dominate the voting, it is not too surprizing that a lot of people don’t bother to vote.
As for the contestants, they take home the prizes (I don’t know what they are actually and I didn’t bother watching the finale. I started to but then found it too banal, boring and crass. I think bollywood dancing ought to be abolished as bad for your mental health and injurious to aesthetic sensibilities) but beyond that what they get is exposure to would be employers.
So the vote was not two-thirds in favor of Kamal Khan?!
Where in did u hear about this perception that its the
northern states that vote more/ Meaning that Kamal in ur opinion
won becoz he was from north aka Punjab??
Absolutely not. I know nothing about the vote breakdown to make any sort of meaningful statement about its impact.
There was an interview recently with Bhishakh (I am down with the flu you see and I spend my time on these useless things) where they asked him about the tilt in voting in favor of contestants from the Northeast. As for Punjab, the kid who went on to win the SVOI championship 2 or 3 years ago, was taken to task by the judges on air for the unusual degree of SMS voting from Punjab which they say was organized. The point is, it’s like a rigged election – once you believe it’s all rigged, you don’t bother to vote. It’s rather curious given how easy it is to vote and the light restrictions on how many times a person can vote, the total number of votes is something like 3 to 4 million. In American Idol, the vote runs in 10s of million. As far as I know, people in the US don’t question the integrity of the show.
” I think bollywood dancing ought to be abolished as bad for your mental health and injurious to aesthetic sensibilities”…LOL..so true..it’s singing competition why would they even expect contestants to dance? has anyone saw Lataji\Ashaji dancing during live shows?
NB: Also, make a rule, in future none of the judges should come on stage to dance\sing ..they are horrible.
My grammar sucks.
I did catch the part with Shri Ghulam Ali and Ranjeet. That was nice. Wish they could have done something for Suganddha as well since she was the last one to leave. But this event wasclearly to promote the judges and not the contestants.
Most of you are still in DENIAL stage (as explained by KALAA). Please get to ACCEPTANCE stage ASAP, so we can move on!!
Kamal is THE WINNER, and deservingly so!!
Congrats to Kamal! I still think Abhilasha deserved it, and the bit from Daler about all 5 mentors disciplining Abhilasha for thinking she’s the best was suspicious and unnecessary (not to mention hypocritical – the best in any field know they are the best.)
The finale itself was stretched too long, and dull as hell. Aside from the comments by Christie above with which I agree, it seemed obvious to me the contestants were lip-syncing their own songs – not only were the performances too perfect without a single false note, but they didn’t look to be putting much effort into it, and I thought I caught two places where they were moving their lips but there was no voice. No problems with this, but it’s silly to do this sort of staging in a “reality show” finale.
The showboating of the “mentors” who seemed more interested in using the show as a platform was self-promotion at its most shameless. I didn’t need to hear Daler belting out several songs, or suffer through the sub-par voices of Sajid, Wajid, Shekhar and Vishal.
While Kamal will be helped by this title to go as far as he can in his field, I hope Abhilasha continues to pursue a movie playback career. She would be a worthy competition to Sunidhi and Shreya.
kalaa
It would be shameful if you were right about the lip syncing. But they all ran out of breath after their perfomance.
I have to admit that I don’t care for Daler. In fact anyone who does a high decibel performance turns me off.
I don’t know how it would matter what the judges thought about Abhilasha unless they had a way to influence the vote. I thought Vishal, who was quite supportive of Abhilasha early on, became slowly indifferent to her towards the end. Sajid was fair to her I think. Daler was more preoccupied with himself.
Abhilasha has a fantastic voice to begin with. She need to learn breath control (oftentimes, that’s what prevents her from going up in scale). Perhaps she’ll come out of Rahman’s school a polished singer.
Heart-felt congragulations to KAMAL on his wonderful win. It was a vindication of the virtues of his heavenly singing. If it sounds like street singing [first of all its an in insult to a great musical tradition viz. punjab's music that has produced too many greats to be ignored. Have soem heart man) ] to people let them know that a street singer can later evolve into a mature singer while well-bred clones who have already peaked can never touch greatness. Kamal is just a wonderful possibility. As rightly pointed out by some hopefully instead of becoming arrogant he uses the opportunity to learna t Rahman’s Academy and comes out as a much better person & singer. KAMAL if you are reading it PLEASE CONTINUE LEARNING more on MUSIC and MORE ON LIFE.
It looks musical sensibilities Vishal Bhardwaj, Bappi Lahri, Ismail Durbar, Siddharth Anand and A R Rehman’s are also suspect because they appreciated his street singing!!
Well said Archana!! I don’t have anything against these Abhilasha lovers (as I liked Abhilasha and Bishakh myself a lot), as long as they can appreciate Kamal for what he’s worth! Otherwise, they are just single-minded morons to me.
They are typically in ‘DENIAL’ stage, as stated by our great Kalaa!!
And come on, guys!! Think ten times before saying, Kamal is a street singer!! Just try your best, and by hook or crook, just get 1/100th popularity in your life time first (however short lived) of what Kamal could achieve. Then make such ignorant statements!!
arre srgmp, you need to take some of this ribbing in stride.. don’t take it so personal.
What V meant by “street singer” is his style of singing, rather than his quality, or implying that he lives on the street.
Kamal has never received any training and simply based on that is an amazing natural talent. He also is a humble and down to earth guy. Does that mean everyone should be singing praises of him- of course not. Congrats to you on your boy’s win!
V, I googled and found based on a report in ToI that Saregemapa has admitted pre-recording some finales.
The performances yesterday from most current and past contestants were utterly flawless. That song by Rini/Basanti I thought, was just awesome.
Acoustics in an open-air auditorium are awful, and it’s hard enough for a singer even in a large auditorium to get accurate enough feedback to perform complex numbers without a flaw.
srgmp
Are you Kamal Khan in disguise that you are taking any criticism of him personally. We all different tastes in music. Is it that hard to accept?
kalaa
It makes sense. But it’s also quite risky because someone likes Kamal tends to improvise and go out of sync with the recorded version. There is an A.R.Rahman Delhi concert floating around on youtube and you can see that for some numbers there is lip-syncing involved. I just think it’s a travesty to charge money for a live concert and pull this stint .
No, Kalaa, you again made a mistake!! You analyze too much!! I am not taking it personally at all. Why would I? I am just trying to show you, where your place is. You mentioned in one of your post, about your being busier than these singers!! Well, please analyze that statement yourself (and please take some time, even time-off if you need).
V, I respect your taste, and anybody else’s. But you have called Kamal a street singer more than once. That’s just you not respecting the whole nation’s taste (or actually NRIs’ either, looking at the poll on this site).
And Abhilasha becoming the highest vote getter for last two weeks was because of heavy voting by Maharashtra/Bombay? I don’t think so. She was better last two weeks, so she got it. But overall, Kamal was liked by more people for his memorable performances, so he got the title.
The result was very disapointing, but somewhat predictable.
The judges influenced the voters by giving only positive remarks about Kamal. There were lots of negative comments on Bishakh, by the judges, still he manged to get the most presents, which they received for their performance.
Kamal sings good, but he is not a competition for Bishakh Jyoti. Abhilasha Chellum is a marvelous singer who deserveS to be the winner.
The season should be re-evaluated by ZEE.
Judges should be put there who know the drill.
I’m so glad Abhijeet and Alka are the judges for Lil’ Champs.
ZEE re-evaluate Saregamapa Singing Superstar.
Abhilasha Chellum, you rock!!!!!
srgmp
You are being silly. I am not a toady of Abhilasha and feel free to say whatever you want about her and criticise her in any way you like. That would not affect my opinion of her as a terrific singer with terrific potential. She could have done better but I don’t know how these contestants train to sing completely new songs with accompaniments in a short time. My hats off to them all but it doesn’t mean you have to say everyone was good.
The results are what they are. I don’t question them. My only point is the votes are so few in comparison to the potential viewership due to many factors. The Punjabi vote business was openly discussed by the SVOI judges a year or two ago on one of the shows. Northeast states predominate in voting also is well known. But that’s the card the contestants are dealt with and I don’t sympathize with them on this count or criticise them for it.
Finally, so I can’t criticize Amitabh’s acting style unless I am comparably famous? You are starting to sound like a blind fan.
What is this stupid concept like respecting or disrespecting? If I dislike Lady Gaga, what of it? After all, she is super popular. You are not making any sense.
Please read ‘accept’, if ‘respect’ is too heavy for you.
srgmp, take a chill pill buddy. Your guy won, you’re supposed to be cheerful ;)
If Abhilasha had won (as she should have if the win was based purely on merit) I would have magnanimous in victory.
By the way, from his own comments Kamal has certainly been magnanimous in victory.
Be interesting to follow these 3 in their careers going forward. Somehow I think Sugandha will be the most successful in the end, being by far the most personable, good looking and interesting of the contestants, a quality all too rare in India. Would be great to see her as Saregamapa host sooner rather than later – she would be a graceful host compared to the recent boring loudmouths.
Congratulations to Kamal. One thing is for sure, Kamal will stay grounded despite much bigger success in the bollywood.
How many people know that Kamal Dewana was re-named Kamal Khan at the start of the show by the Saregamapa judges, who swore that Kamal would have another “Khan” by the time the show ended? Why would judges do or say such things when the contest is yet to get under way?
Sorry but this all the facts point to a setup. In a country where corruption plagues publicly accountable government organizations and public companies, what reason is there to believe in a vote counting process with zero accountability?
If Abhilasha was the topper for the previous two weeks in a row, there’s no reason for her not to have won this.
Here’s the “news” direct from Kamal’s father:
—
We had named him Kamal Dewana. He was renamed as Kamal Khan during the event, some 19 weeks back. The judges of the show bestowed the title of ‘Khan’ on him, claiming that Bollywood would soon have another ‘Khan’,” added Kamal’s father, who returned to Patiala after attending the finale in Mumbai on Saturday night.
I’m not following recent posts on this forum but now looking at your moronic post like this one, I’m glad that I din’t bother about reading your other posts.
I like all top three, i.e. Kamal, Abhilasha and Bishakh with my top favourite was\is Kamal. Though even if Kamal would have lost against Abhilasha, I wouldn’t have gone to this extent (as your above post) to justify my opinion. Someone has rightly said, ‘It’s better to keep quite so that you don’t prove yourself a fool’…applies to you well.
Kalaa, you so funnnnyyyy!! You still haven’t stopped coming up with silly ‘inside’ (here, by ‘inside’, I mean ‘inside your brain’) scoops??
Kalaa, I don’t know, what to make of your comments : “If Abhilasha was the topper for the previous two weeks in a row, there’s no reason for her not to have won this”!!
Are you an MBA, by any chance? Because, that would explain this.
“Are you an MBA, by any chance? Because, that would explain this” ….
HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa…..Your are helarious SRGMP…ROFL.
BTW, Kalaa. You are still in DENAIL state!! Please do something about it. Take a pill, at least!!
Before I stop visiting this site (till next season), I want to see in ACCEPTANCE stage, and stop worrying about you!!
Wow. that’s quite interesting! I knew the so-called audition videos are staged (Abhilasha had a chorus when sang her lavani) but I didn’t realize the so-called reality show is anything but. I wonder if what they broadcast is cleaned up so everyone sounds their best.
srgmp
Dude, you are coming unhinged.
kalaa
From what I have read Abhilasha is perhaps the most experienced singer there was. She had been participating in these shows since her pre-teen years. So it’s not as if she is a novice. If she was conned, it was done with her consent.
Are you with Kalaa, too, V? I mean, in the “stages”?
There is something called ‘editing’ for all the recorded reality shows!! It’s not necessarily ‘staged’.
Kalaa, please point to your source, where you read about Kamal ‘Dewana’. I would like to read. I think, all here would like to read it.
srgmp
You call having a chorus trained in marathi lavani song at the ready at the audition a part of editing? You are sounding like a shill for Zee TV.
What kalaa posted is from tribuneindia. You can look it up yourself.
Again, I am not doing any battles on behalf of any of the participants. They knew what was going on and were a part of it. If this was all a staged show then they were willing actors. I am more concerned about how the viewers are conned.
V, when I saw Abhilasha’s Marathi SRGMP videos, on some of those, there were comments. From one site to other, I came to read that on Marathi SRGMP, they were unfairly promoting Abhilasha. I didn’t believe that, because she sounded like an excellent singer (and actually she was better there than Hindi SRGMP).
Based on that though, it’s almost impossible for Hindi SRGMP team to have NOT known about her. May be, they had decided to have her as a contestants already (before auditions), and that’s why probably her audition was staged. But so what? I don’t think, there were many who would have challenged her. I think, same is true for Sugandha or Bishakh or even Kamal, as they all had participated in high profile competitions already, and must have attracted SRGMP team’s attention.
But I don’t think, that the contestants would participate in any setup during competition. I don’t think, Zee TV would risk the credibility of their heavily earning show for (so far) unimportant contestants.
Even if there is no control over repeated voting (I am not sure, if that’s the case, though), it applies to all the contestants, as I think, only a small and pretty much same percentage of their supporters would do that.
Am very happy that Kamal won the 1st prize… actually i was doubting that the 1st winner will be Kamal or Abhilasha..both are too good, Bishak also is a gud singer but Abhilasha and Kamal were my favourite…Abhilasha has a great voice, hope she wi;; contiinue singing…Also i just love Kamal Smile…he is cute.. Cheers to all and Happy New year 2011…From Reeya of Mauritius
Really great to see that Kamal won. He was most deserving and congrats to Abhilasha and Bishakh as well. All three are great singers.
I wonder what DID doubles will be like without Terrence and Remo. Well, let’s wait and see. The presentation was not great.I just hope that Remo and Terrence are going to be there in DID 3.
srgmp, check tribuneindia dated December 26 on “Patiala lad” for the comment by Kamal’s father on judges changing his son’s name at the start of the contest. (admins seem to get anal about links posted here)
Also I find it obnoxious is that these judges want us to believe that only people with a name of Khan can succeed in Bollywood. How would this guy feel, acknowledged as winner but with a name different from his own. I would find it insulting.
Oh, BTW, your name here was supposed to be Kalaakaar (not you real name, of course!!). On top of it, they chopped it off to Kalaa!! How do you feel about that?
V, Abhilasha may be an experienced/trained singer, but she’s still a 19 year old kid and Daler was able to make her cry just before the finals for acting “too confident”!
She is powerless if Zee or the judges want to give the trophy to someone else. I would say she’s done very well to get to second position, despite knowing who was favored by the judges all along. It can be a killer for the morale knowing that you can’t win regardless of how well you perform.
In her own way she was sending the judges a message that she knows she is the best, even if they decide to pick someone else. The judges may not have liked that confidence, but I loved it!
It does look like the mentors with or without active assistance from zee, had the whole course of events chatted out.
1. Kamal is given the last name Khan.
2. In one episode Sajid-Wajid announce Bhishakh the winner, Vishal objects, but gives in for no apparent reason.
3. Manish Pal becomes the host. He is much more of an ass kisser of the mentors.
4. Bhishakh wins the most number of commendations by the mentors and is at the bottom most number of times.
5. Some of the “live” performances could have been helped by lip syncing.
6. Wajid tells Abhilasha to prepare for the big stage even before the final 3 are announced. Abhilasha showed no surprise, passively nods her head.
7. Daler rewards (bribes) Abhilasha with a ring that he has had made for her. He puts it on before handing it to Manish. It didn’t even fit in his pinky.
8. Conveniently, one contestant from each group makes it into the finals.
9. You can pay a lakh rupees and hire a backoffice type company in Mumbai to generate 5 lakh votes.
I don’t know about Bhishakh, but Sniti and others were mere props in this cooked up drama.
srgmp
You are going off-track.
I said: I knew the so-called audition videos are staged (Abhilasha had a chorus when sang her lavani) but I didn’t realize the so-called reality show is anything but.
You said: Are you with Kalaa, too, V? I mean, in the “stages”?
There is something called ‘editing’ for all the recorded reality shows!! It’s not necessarily ‘staged’.
And I said: You call having a chorus trained in marathi lavani song at the ready at the audition a part of editing? You are sounding like a shill for Zee TV.
And you say: …that’s why probably her audition was staged. But so what?
Sounds like you are arguing with yourself.
Anyway, this is the last SRGMP show I watch. I do hope Abhilasha stays around.
Re “stages”, I think srgmp is still fuming over the “5 stages of grief” gag I pulled on him :)
You bring up a good point about the back-office setup that could be used to get several lakh votes. lol this would be a more “honest” way of doing it than my thought that they simply changed the count at will, or e.g. changed the formula to say 1 judge vote = 1 lakh people votes.
kalaa
Anything is possible. If Zee was in on the game, then they could have set it up so the judges decide the winner. If Zee was kept out then “honest” votes could be arranged.
The whole arrangement stinks.
Kala & V Co.,
Do you both realize how much money dose these type of reality TV shows earn mere out of people’s voting? they’ve arrangements with telcos to get their fair share from every single call being made. Also, Zee wouldn’t risk their credibility by bogus voting as other rival channels\shows like the Indion Idol would take every opportunity to stir this in the media. Let’s leave these conspiracy theories aside and accept the verdict.
NB: Both of you sounds more like Sniti Mishra’s fans..not so long ago when they were flogging all sorts of stupid arguments in her defence
Dev09
Is that how you voted – by SMS?
You seem rather naive.
Address the points then we’ll talk.
LOL! No I didn’t vote as I’ve been living overseas for more than a decade. Even if I would’ve been living in India, I wouldn’t have voted as I’ve got more important things to do. As far as you *so called point* …please bullet it here and I’ll address them.
Dev, I think V’s point is that regardless of what you’re talking about telco profit share etc, it costs peanuts to have 5 lakh votes cast in favor of a particular contestant. Do the numbers – how much does it cost an Indian resident to cast a vote. Multiply that by 5 lakh, how much is that?
As long as the voting is as light as it is, the winner is easy to manipulate.
Now I see that V is even suggesting Abhilasha’s second ranking may have been fixed. When the contest started, the judges had decided who would be #1 and #2, the rest they didn’t care. Althought that’s cheating, they are certainly better judges of musical talent than aam janta, but I hope considerations of arrogance and humbleness etc didn’t play a role in their decision who to rank first and second.
It’s simple. You can vote online in the time it takes to type out a sentence. With multiple (anonymized) IPs, multiple email addresses a person can vote many, many times for the same contestant in any given week. Costs you nothing or close to nothing.
As for my “so-called point”: if the judges are vested in a certain outcome (as evidenced by Kamal’s father’s statement in the Tribune), they can make that happen even if they don’t have a direct say in the selection. It’s hard to say how much influence they had behind the scenes in who gets to be in the top 3. But the fact that each team got one contestant into the top 3 just like that (a lot of Kamal’s fans also found that strange here) suggests the judges could make anything happen. Add to this the fact that we know nothing about the integrity of the vote count, if there were extraneous considerations like1 judge vote = 1 lakh commoner vote, for example, and/or engineered block voting, etc.
The fix was in, right from the beginning. I cited Wajid’s statement to Abhilasha as an example of how the fix was working. This absolutely has nothing to do with Abhilasha’s (or Kamal’s for that matter) talent as a singer. I find her a pure joy to listen. I almost wish she had not been a part of this racket.
Kalaa & V,
Please continue working on your conspiracy theory!! I guess, this forum is now available to just you two to entertain your wild guesses and theories.
BTW, Abhilasha is 21 years old, not 19. She was the least humble for sure, and that’s not going to help her at all.
If it’s true, that they changed Kamal’s last name, then I am disappointed a little. However, that doesn’t change the fact, that he was the best!!
Well, on that note, I suggest Kalaa, that you change your name (if you choose to come along for the next season), as otherwise you will face a lot of hostility from a lot of people because of your moronic comments throughout.
V,
When I asked you, if you were with Kalaa in ‘stages’, I was talking about our homegrown psycho(logist) Kalaa’s stages. You need to read (it would be painful, though) Kalaa’s earlier posts.
Also, when I said, “probably Abhilasha’s audition was staged”, I kinda agreed with you later. But, I understand your disorientation, as you have been down with flu. I hope, you get well soon!!
See you next season!! All yours!!
(To be honest, I will come back here now and then, and see, what you two are cooking!!)
srgmp
You came on strong claiming I didn’t know the difference between editing and staging and then you say it was staged but so what? I think you have difficulty comprehending.
No, V. I don’t have any problem understanding it (however, your comments do get complicated sometimes!!).
I will try again, so that you can understand. When I said “there is a difference between ‘editing’ and ‘staging’”, what I meant was, you were blowing it completely out of proportion by branding the whole show as ‘staged’, where what they actually did was just editing to make it look nicer.
However, when you pointed out the chorus during Abhilasha’s audition, I kinda agreed with you. I had liked that performance so much, the chorus part never crossed my mind. So, I agreed with you (sorry), that it might have been ‘staged’ rather than ‘edited’. But then I thought further (sorry again), and the rest of the post was based on that thinking.
I think, you have difficulty comprehending my comprehension!! Please take some rest, dude.
” She was the least humble for sure, and that’s not going to help her at all.”. I agree 100% with you on this one.
From day one I noticed that she was acting like she was way above the rest and a clear winner. At that time I didn’t know that she has already been to the Marathi version. The way she boasted herself during the audition was another example ‘Lataji told me that very soon you will be singing your own songs’.
I still believe she successfully made deliberate mistake during Mammpe Nair’s performance which cost Mamppe her spot..if unsure, I would ask everyone to go back and watch that episode. Wajid straight way made a harsh remark ‘how come you guys can’t get it right even after several rhearsals’. Abhilasha knew that Mampee was her biggest threat. Sorry to say but what goes around comes around…you couldn’t win either. I still like her voice and singing but not her attitude.
BTW, Kalaa, why are you still in ‘DENIAL’?? And that, too, so desperately??
Priyam, Dev, Soor, Neetu,
See you next season!!
see you champ. It was nice to interact with you over this forum. see you around.
Sure thing, friend!!
And, well said – all of it!!
I have a strong doubt that Kala is Abhilasha or someone close to her in disguise!! If one has read abt Mozart, the very first time queen of Vienna heard him as a 5 yr old she put him on her thrown! such is the effect of prodigal talent on a music-lover’s mind.
I don’t know how re-christening can de-credit somebody. hope we are not in an 19th cenruty aristocratic age!
You’re missing the point.
The judges promised that a new Khan would be delivered to Bollywood, and accordingly christened Kamal as a Khan.
The whole thing would have been silly if he had been eliminated mid-way. So they ensured that their newly christened Khan was surviving all along.
It’s a 1-2-3 punch: christen him “Khan”; constantly hype him all the way during the show disregarding the critical lack of versatility; and behind the scenes manipulate the vote count.
[...] Up for making it so far. They are definitely amongst the best singers in this season. Congratulate Saregamapa 2010 Winner Kamal [...]
