Zee TV has launched a new singing reality show to replace L’il Champs 2009. It is called Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge, it started on the 30th of October And the final episode will be aired on the 12th of December 2009, which will mark the 1,000th episode of India’s oldest televised singing talent hunt.
The entire team has been selected from the participants over the years. Each team has three members of different age groups with a captain to Guide them. Each team represents a state of India. There will be new Judges for each episode according to a source from the channel. The total teams are from eight states.
According to officials there will be a tough competition amongst the participants as the juniors will be competing with the senior participants. It is heard that some of the captains have even checked their team mates voices on YouTube so that their Comfort level with different genres can be judged. There are many singers such as Raja Hasan, Twinkle Bajpai, Rohanpreet Singh, abhijeet Ghoshal, Parthiv Gohil, etc.
During the early years it used to be called Sa Re Ga Ma and later the Pa was added. Lets all hope the show will keep us entertained as long as it is being aired.

What a Non-sense judging,the whole judgement is towards maharastra,this is not at all good for the people like Jatin and Anand.Daler is fit for judge at all,I think all the judges are either bribed or they are worried abt people like MNS,total Non-sense programe-
The Mega final judgment was not proper . It was very much clear that judges were doing partiality for Mumbai, Rohan’s mark was not proper judgment. And it was so clear to all that the our respectful judges was doing partiality with Mumbai from the very 1st day. This is not expected. Though the voice of rohan was not good he got 7,9 marks then what was wrong with Tarun sagar ? This is competition no sympathy and emotion is expected from judges who are our india’s hearts and great Ikons
I was minutely following the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge 2009. To my surprise, the judges forced Maharashtra to be the champion. In Maharashtra team, except Vaishali, Kaushik and Rohit are by far the poorer singers compared to the West Bengal team members as well as a few other States’ singers (almost like comparing apples with oranges).
In the final today, West Bengal were given less points for all three solo performances. The extreme bias of the judges were very clear when Sanchita got 6 points and Rohit got 9. Ridiculous!! In the duet, how come Kaushik gets more than Keka? What was wrong with Abhijit’s first duet with Vaishali? There was no “atman”? Where were judges’ “atman” residing then? Did they drink too much during the competition or what? These are just a couple of examples that clearly showed the utter bias towards Maharashtra. I would not be surprised if they were also bribed.
After this incident, I have lost all my respect for Sonu Nigom, Suresh Wadkar and Pyarelal. I have also decided to never attend any of their shows no matter what.

It was inevitable. And its all pre determined. Since these people earn their bread from Maharashtra, they did this. These people do not have any moral values and they have killed their conscience, its only silver tonic that keeps you healthy. I too lost all respect for these people who call themselves artists.
From what I have seen from several comments made by other viewers of SRGMP Mega Challenge 2009, the judges (Sonu Nigam, Suresh Wadkar and Pyarelal) either have taken bribes from someone or they don’t have the balls to go against Marathis. Shame on them! Hopefully, this will get enough media attention.
The regionalism that plagues India is sad to see – there have been many occasions when in fact Maharashtrians have been discriminated against. Just remember all the past episodes with the biased regional voting system and all the Bengali judges … I will leave it there.
If anything, the judging on the Mega Challenge final was quite impartial, and Maharashtra deserved to win.

Thre can’t be any doubt that the judges were merely trying to arrive at a pre-decided judgment. Honestly, I did not expect this to happen. How could Sonu award 9 marks to Rohit, when he deserved not more than 6 ? Also, how was Sanchita being awarded so less marks ? Shame on Zee TV, coming after such a long, illustrious and, normally, unblemished, record.
Bengal Team should have won the competition. For some reasons, judges manipulated the first day score; despite Bengal singers were far better those Maharastra singers in Jugalbandi rounds. Vaishali is little better singer than Abhijit, but Sanchita and Keka are far better than the other two singers of Maharastra. In the Jugalbandi Sanchita sang almost perfect to original song as per judge Jatin Pandit, still she got 7 marks and the Maharastra singer Rohit Shyam Rao sang almost out of tune and he also got 7. It is very sad to see how a renowned program of Sa re ga ma pa can allow such a partial judgement. I admire Sonu Nigam as a singer but as a judge he has done a blunder specially giving 9 marks to Rohit for his horrible singing! To me, the team ranking should be 1. West Bengal, 2. Assam, 3. Maharastra and Gujrat joint
judjement was not fair between Assam and Westbengal. In India 120Cr people watching this show if judgement is biased to particular team then very sad to write like “saregamapa mega challenge” program should not happened this thing.Assam team has given far far better performance than Westbengal team.I hope next time ZEE TV will take care this partiality.

If music is the basis of this program then the WESTBENGAL team should be the winner…….Except Vaishali, the other two contestants of the Maharashtra team could not even sing in “SUR”..HA, they are the winner !!!!!!
